Yesterday morning, a three-year remembrance ceremony was hosted right next to the site to honor those 98 victims who lost their lives to the horrible tragedy that happened in Surfside.
Elected officials, family members of the victims and civilians gathered to remember all that was lost.
Although the land has now been contracted—many families of the victims await a permanent memorial on the site to honor their lost loved ones where the incident occurred.
“We don’t even know if they’re okay,” says Shmuel Balkany, who attended. “We don’t know if the rest are okay.”
