Wall’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream in South Miami ended its 24-year run this weekend, closing at the location where it all began. The move marks the end of an era for the neighborhood, though its location at Sunset Drive remains open.

For many, this place is more than just a dessert stop. It is where first dates, family traditions and countless memories were made. Loyal customers visited one last time before the shop’s relocation.

“One of my first dates with my boyfriend was at the Big Cheese and then we came here to have ice cream after,” said frequent customer Monserrat Alonzo

While the doors here are closing, the story isn’t over. The owner said this is not a farewell, but a fresh start.

“We have a second location already at Sunset Drive and 95th, next to the Sushi Sake and Pizza Johny’s, and we are looking for another location, hopefully nearby,” said owner Felipe Grabiel.
