Last night, the Palmetto Panthers faced off against the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes. The game was declared a no-contest following several lighting delays.
Though it was only Week 2 of the high school football season, Tornadoes defensive back Ben Hanks III made what could already be considered the play of the year.
On the first drive of the game, Hanks III picked off Palmetto quarterback Andre Bailey in the back of the end zone before running his interception back 100 yards for a Tornadoes touchdown.
In the second quarter, Panthers quarterback Andre Bailey redeemed his early miscue with a 40-yard touchdown pass to Kadir Battle.
The Panthers held a 10-9 lead heading to the half before the game was canceled. If necessary, the match will be replayed later in the season during a bye-week.
