Episode 1: Dr. Patricia Junquera

In this episode, we’re joined by Dr. Patricia Junquera, who shares how medicine and technology is reshaping caregiving. She explains that caregivers often experience burn out and emotional exhaustion when caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease. By focusing on her research collaboration with the Miami Neuroscience Institute, the episode connects clinical science with real world empathy. 

Episode 2: Alyssa Toyos

In this episode we’re joined by Alyssa Toyos, a part-time caregiver for her grandmother diagnosed with early on-set Alzheimer’s. Toyos describes her daily routine consisting of preparing meals, managing medication and more. She shares how she stays organized by using Alexa devices, reminder apps and AirTags for safety. Her story highlights how technology can fit into daily routines while caregiving and provides structure.

Kelly Rengifo (she/her) was born and raised in Miami, Florida by Venezuelan parents. She is majoring in Digital and Interactive Media learning content production. She aspires to work in radio or television as a production assistant, providing broadcast and administrative support. She has an interest in storytelling and creating engaging content for diverse audiences.

Lynsey Silva is an Interactive and Digital Media major with a strong interest in creativity and storytelling. She enjoys exploring the ways digital platforms connect people and brands. With experience in customer communication and content creation, she brings both creativity and professionalism to her work. Lynsey hopes to pursue a career as a Creative Director or in social media, where she can combine her passion for design, strategy, and digital engagement.

Emily Toraya is a Miami native who is a Florida International University senior and Honors College member. Emily is a Digital Communications major with a focus on interactive media. Emily has an interest in connecting the digital sphere to her hometown and aims to operate the social media platforms of beloved local businesses after graduating with her Bachelors of Science. 

Marisol Morales is a Miami native and a senior currently pursuing a degree in Digital Communication and Media with a minor in Marketing. Throughout her college journey, she has developed strong skills in content creation and social media strategies. After graduation, she plans to build a career in social media, aiming to help brands grow their online presence and create meaningful digital experiences.
