Areas with low vaccination levels pose risk of Delta variant spread (includes video story)

Five different areas spread across the South that are home to many unvaccinated people are putting the entire country at risk because of increasing Delta variant cases.

A new analysis from Georgetown University researchers shows five large clusters could become a breeding ground for new COVID-19 variants.

The Centers for Disease Control warns that the Delta variant is becoming the predominant strain in the United States. As many as 24 states have seen a 10% increase in COVID-19 cases over the last week with this variant driving the surge.

According to health officials, the only solution to preventing any future harm from this highly contagious variant is to get more people vaccinated as soon as possible.
