AI may affect the need for a degree in Information Technology (includes video story)

While artificial intelligence is revolutionizing the field of information technology in various ways, its impact on information technology in higher education remains to be seen. Many argue that AI could potentially replace classroom learning and future job opportunities for graduates in the field.

“Around 50% of my skillsets are based on actual classes, but also the other 50% is research that I do,” said Florida International University student Cristian Gamboa.

How AI will affect the need for formal education in IT will only become clear in the future as independent learning aided by the technology grows in popularity.

David Lazcano Ventura is a journalism/digital broadcasting junior student at FIU with an Associates Degree in art. He loves theater, music, and communication arts as well as i guitar and piano. He is proficient in Italian and fluent in English and Spanish.

Dylan Pezet is a student at Florida International University studying Digital Communications and Broadcast Media. He joined Caplin News in the Spring of 2024 in hopes of improving his TV-production craft so that after graduation he may be able to get a job with the NHRA as a track reporter/announcer.

Mauro Tellez is an FIU student studying communications and media production. After graduation, he strives to become an editor for many renowned productions, especially documentaries on people and what they are passionate about.
