AT&T workers continue strike against company for unjust labor practices (includes video story)

An estimated 17,000 AT&T workers, part of the Communications Workers of America (CWA), continued their strike against the company across nine Southeastern states into its third week.

The workers accuse AT&T of engaging in unjust labor practices during the process of negotiating their new contract after the previous one expired on Aug. 3. Local groups in Kendall, as well as those in other parts of the country are protesting outside of AT&T buildings in support of successful negotiations.

“Technicians are the backbone of AT&T,” said Anthony Machado of a CWA chapter in Miami. “If you can’t get a technician to go out to your property, if you can’t get a technician to do your insulation, how are you provided the service?”
