Baynanza celebrates 40 years of Earth Day cleanup (includes video story)

Miami-Dade County is hosting the annual Biscayne Bay Baynanza cleanup, which has over four decades extracted more than one million pounds in trash from the shoreline.

Thousands of volunteers attend this traditional annual event to help clear debris from one of Miami’s most unique and diverse ecosystems, as the bay has experienced extreme pollution throughout the years.

Anyone who wishes to join the cleanup can attend one of the 27 sites across Miami-Dade County, at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 23. For more information, visit Baynanza Miami-Dade County.
