Before the Panthers big win, fans lace up skates to watch electric Game 7 (includes video story)

Panthers fans at the Baptist Health Iceplex immersed themselves in an electric game 7 for the Stanley Cup against the Edmonton Oilers by stepping onto the ice Monday.

At the recently-built practice facility for the team, attendees watched the Cats lift the trophy for the first time in franchise history in its third Stanley Cup Finals appearance.

While the game featured 60 minutes of anxiety, couples like Andrea Howall and Joreon Djikman got to take in memories that will last a lifetime. The team trimphred over the Edmonton Oilers, four games to three, and won the Stanley Cup.

“The sound on the ice, the sound of everyone yelling. It was unreal,” said Djikman. “It’s like a fairy tale.”

The Panthers will celebrate with a championship parade on Sunday.
