Golf is more popular than it has been for years, and as a result, inexpensive rates are a rarity. But in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, one of the nation’s premier golf locations, where winter is considered in–season, there are some hidden gems open to the public.
From Costa del Sol, which offers GPS carts and weekly tournaments, to soon–to–be–renovated Orangebrook in Hollywood, which is negotiating to become PGA Tour tournament host, these places all offer a day–on–the–links for less than $90.

Orangebrook Golf & Country Club houses east and west courses that cost the same morning or afternoon, weekend or weekday. Owners are planning over $400 million in renovations, adding a light-up par 3 course and three 40 story luxury hotels. Architect Rees Jones plans to move the course into the top 100 nationally. Owners also hope to attract a PGA Tour event.
This is among the lowest rates for 18 holes of golf available to the public in all of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

Doral, Florida 33178

3.4/5 via GolfNow
Green and cart fees: from $46 to $69
Costa del Sol has some of the lowest rates in the area. The affordability is not only in the green fees that are most commonly $58 with a digital GPS cart, but driving range buckets, pro shop apparel and golf ball prices are among the best around.
The course welcomes beginners and is open to anybody with a handicap. But beware the tight fairways and hazardous greens. These make it one of the trickiest courses available in this price range. The club hosts weekly golf tournaments and junior clinics, making it perfect for golfers at all skill levels.

Country Club of Miami
6801 Miami Gardens Dr.
Hialeah, Florida 33015
(305) 829-8456
3.0/5 via GolfNow
Green and cart fees: $40
Country Club of Miami is one of the most well known public golf facilities in the area. The flat rate of $40 for all times and dates makes the course appealing to the public. Just off of Ludlam Road the publicly open east course is enclosed by netting to eliminate the stress of stray balls hitting nearby property and traffic.
The long and open fairways and big greens make for a forgiving course for all levels of golfers. The layout encourages a fast pace of play but try not to miss the fairways or the search for a ball in the rough will not be pleasant.

The course may be a longer drive for most compared to the rest on this list, but the friendly staff, forgiving course and affordable rates make up for the trip.
