President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Arlington National Cemetery to commemorate Memorial Day.
“We’re gathered at this sacred place in this solemn hour to engage in the most fundamental of undertakings, the right of remembrance,” said President Biden.
They placed a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier and encouraged all Americans to fight for democracy.
With Congress failing last week to create a bipartisan commission to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, President Biden warned that democracy is in danger and called for unity more than ever.
