Economic pressure mounts as Boeing worker’s strike continues over wages and benefits (includes video story)

The economic pressures are escalating as negotiations continue between Boeing and its striking workers.

Approximately 33,000 employees have ceased work and demand improved pay and conditions, resulting in the halt of Boeing’s main aircraft production. This could potentially lead to a loss of over a billion dollars for Boeing if it resumes.

Lonnie Holman-Hernandez, a striking machinist with a daughter, said, “I want to be able to get a home for her,” emphasizing the personal significance of the situation.

The urgency for a solution becomes more critical with the company now enacting cost-saving measures, such as hiring freezes, travel reductions, and charitable donation cuts.
