Bonita Springs resident Kevin Swanepoel captured the special moment of a newborn manatee calf and its mother on camera. Now, Swanepoel has been able to keep up with the new mom and calf from his backyard canal.
“My son and his girlfriend were both in tears because it was like this remarkable experience of sort of seeing this brand-new little calf being born, and then suddenly coming up to the surface,” Swanepoel said.
