Books & Books gives poets a voice at “Palms & Poetry” event (includes video story)

Books & Books in Coral Gables celebrated the three-year anniversary of Palms & Poetry on Monday, bringing local poets and community members together for an evening of storytelling and connection. Held in collaboration with the Miami Poetry Club, the monthly event featured an open mic where anyone can take the stage and express themselves.

Attendees come to join a community of writers that support each other in their journey to better express themselves.

“This is one of those small events that everybody’s not looking at a screen,” said La Livia, a poet and public speaker. “Poetry is the language of the heart so everybody’s connecting on a deep level.”

Palms & Poetry is a monthly event that will be back on Oct. 17.
