CARTA Hall of Fame inducts FIU alumni and retired faculty (includes video story)

Florida International University’s College of Communication, Architecture, and the Arts (CARTA) honored some of its most distinguished graduates and a former faculty member Thursday.

The CARTA Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Wolfe Theater recognized the achievements of Jenise Fernandez, an anchor and reporter at Local 10 News; Silvana Massolo, the co-founder and chief marketing officer of Revolve Group; Eyder Peralta, an NPR international correspondent; Elizabette Uribe, the vice president of Burson; and Lorna Veraldi, a retired communications professor who won the Faculty Achievement Award.

The new inductees were presented with an award and then had the opportunity to talk about their experiences when they were students at FIU.

“It is surreal to think that so much time has passed and I am now being recognized for what has truly been an incredible career so far,” said Fernandez.
