Churchill’s Pub reopens after a five-year hiatus in Little Haiti (includes video story)

Churchill’s Pub, the legendary live music bar that represented Miami’s underground music scene for four decades, reopens after a five-year hiatus. The venue closed during the Covid-19 shutdown, and locals have been begging for the return of their rock haven.

The bar now offers a food menu with bar snack staples like wings, seasoned fries, croquetas, along with a new outdoor patio that gives guests a calmer space away from the chaos inside.

Miami’s younger alternative crowd is excited to experience the same stage that once presented musicians like Marilyn Manson and iconic punk rock band “The Eat,” which the Miami New Times once called “the city’s greatest band of all time.”

Churchill’s veterans are relieved to be back home. Guitarist of the local band “Off Orbit,” Marcos Jimenez, expressed his happiness with the pub’s reopening, feeling that the old, raw Miami is making a comeback.

“It feels like the city is back,” said Jimenes. “It feels like we belong here again, all us rockers, outsiders, and misfits, and alternatives.”
