Miami Beach nonprofit preserves coasts and protects baby turtles (includes video story)

Clean Miami Beach is a nonprofit dedicated to keeping the Magic City’s beaches and natural habitats free of garbage and harmful pollutants. One of their many incentives is preserving coastlines and protecting local species, like turtles, who call these spaces home.

The organization regularly hosts clean-up events and brings together volunteers from across Miami-Dade County who are passionate about making a difference. Christian Hampton, Clean Miami Beach’s outreach impact manager, stresses that community involvement is of critical importance. He says that by reducing litter and pollution, we create a safer habitat for baby turtles and ensure their survival.

As baby turtles hatch, they need a clear path to the ocean that is free of debris and hazards that could impede their journey. Clean Miami Beach’s efforts not only create a safe haven for these turtles, but contribute to the overall health of the area’s marine ecosystem.

Together, the nonprofit emphasizes, residents can make a significant difference in preserving the natural beauty of Miami Beach and protecting its native fauna.
