Country vibes in the 305: Miami-Dade brings western spirit to Tropical Park

Tropical Park transformed into a slice of the Wild West this past weekend as the Miami-Dade CountryFest 2025 brought together rodeo thrills, live music, and family-friendly fun—all with a uniquely local twist.

Formerly known as the Miami Agriculture, Horse and Cattle Show, the rebranded CountyFest took place on April 26 and 27 at the Ronald Reagan Equestrian Center. Free and open to the public, the event aimed to spotlight the region’s agricultural heritage while offering an escape into classic Americana.

“After promoting and helping make this event come to life, it was so rewarding and fun getting to experience it,” said Jillian Salvi Cruz, a Miami-Dade County marketing team member. “Seeing the community show up and engage with the festival made all the behind-the-scenes work worth it.”

There were many attractions during the event, such as the International Livestock Show and Rodeo, which included team roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. Families explored handmade crafts at Vendor Valley, visited a petting zoo in “Farmville,” and tried regional cuisine from a variety of food trucks. Regional country musicians performed live, keeping the Round Up Stage lively all day.

Many attendees experienced a western-style festival in Miami for the first time .

“I’ve lived in Miami my whole life and never been to something like this,” said Isabella Bello, an FIU student. “It was so fun and such a different vibe. I’ll definitely be going again—it was great seeing the community come together in a whole new way.”
