Two years ago, Miami-Dade and Broward County mayors proclaimed Oct. 1 Croqueta Day. To celebrate, the Caplin News visited one of Miami’s favorite croqueta locations.
Islas Canarias is family-owned and was established in 1977 by the late Raul and Amelia Garcia. It was then passed down to their daughter, Nancy Andrade. The place’s recipes have endured the test of time. Families throughout South Florida gather here to taste their delicious croquetas.
“They taste just like my mother’s here at Islas Canarias,” said Mylene Bello a frequent customer. “That’s why my family and I love coming here.”
