Democratic voters gathered at a venue in Doral on Tuesday night to watch the presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. Attendees were welcomed with refreshments as well as informational pamphlets and posters on various local, state and national Democratic candidates.
Viewers were thrilled with Harris’ debate performance, which reaffirmed their decision to vote for her in November.
“Kamala showed exactly what we were looking for in a commander-in-chief,” said Miguel Sahid, leader of the Florida Grassroots Coalition. “[Kamala] portrayed me, my character, my color, my race. She portrayed everyone, and she was not divisive.”
Voters reacted negatively to Trump’s commentary on the debate stage. Marisol Zenteno, candidate for Miami-Dade Property Appraiser, said she “enjoyed” how the vice president “focused on calling out former President Donald Trump on his lies.”
