This Thursday, the City of Doral hosted its Tango and Latin American Night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at its cultural arts center. The event is part of an ongoing community initiative to highlight the rich heritage of Latin American music and dance through monthly showcases.
“Our goal is to have cultural programming for everyone in the community,” said Doral Cultural Arts Center facility manager Johanna Villasmil. “We try to involve all the different cultures, and Doral is a place of diversity.”
Aside from the Argentine traditional dance, the center has hosted Bossa Nova, flamenco and jazz-themed nights to cover a variety of genres. Next month’s theme is “Noche de Boleros” on July 25 and will feature sultry Cuban love songs from the 20th century. All shows are hosted at the Doral Cultural Arts center on the last Thursday of each month. Admission is free via RSVP.
