Downtown Miami protestors rally against Trump’s actions in office (includes video story)

Protestors gathered at the Freedom Tower in downtown Miami, joining yesterday’s nationwide demonstrations against President Donald Trump.

They rallied against his mass deportation immigration policies, the gutting of federal agencies like USAID and his cuts in fields like research. There were signs that equated Trump’s leadership to authoritarian regimes that many in Miami fled.

Protestors said that Trump not only betrayed the country’s values, but those of his party as well.

“The reality is that the Republican Party prior to Trump was moving in a direction, like Ronald Reagan recognized, that we are a country of immigrants,” said organizer Chris Wills. “And then Trump started calling us criminals, murderers and literally said we eat cats and dogs.”
