On Friday, multiple victims were injured after two shark attacks occurred within four miles of each other and 90 minutes apart in the Florida panhandle.
“This time of year is when sharks will move in shallower waters to feed,” says wildlife biologist and Shark Week expert Forrest Galante. “They’re looking for prey along the beaches.”
Rising ocean temperatures push sharks to hunt along coastal lines near beachgoers. Although attacks are rare, experts warn vacation crowds to stay alert.
