Local farmers market promotes shopping, fresh food and unity to Miami Lakes (includes video story)

Fresh food, local vendors and a strong sense of community come together at Miami Lakes’ farmers market every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 6797 Main St.

The market includes a variety of cuisines, including Mediterranean hummus and Texas-style BBQ, as well as matcha, sweets, jewelry and clothing.

For many sellers, the weekend represents more than just a business.

“We start cooking around seven in the morning because we want to make sure that the experience that every customer gets is fresh food,” said market business owner Harry Rodriguez. “I love talking to people, I love seeing people that like what I do.”
