The FIU baseball team’s red hot 11-1 home record will be put to the test when they face the University of Miami Tuesday at LoanDepot Park.
The backyard matchup will take place in the same venue where the FIU football team beat Miami in one of the biggest upsets in school history.
The Hurricanes are the first of three Florida schools that the Panthers will take on this week. Star first baseman Brylan West says that they are trying to show that they can hang with the state’s best.
“We’re just trying to prove that we belong, you know,” said West. “One game at a time. We’re going to show up, we’re going to play hard.”
