FIU’s Ratcliffe Art and Design Incubator welcomes new fellows (includes video story)

FIU’s Ratcliffe Art and Design Incubator introduced its new fall semester cohort of fellows. Cohort 8 will learn to pitch business project ideas, brand and establish a business. The fellowship lasts for one year. There’s a second-year option for qualified candidates.

The Ratcliffe Art and Design Incubator was founded in 2017 with a grant from the Phillip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation. The foundation recently gifted an additional $2.5 million to FIU in 2020 for upcoming diverse and entrepreneurial leaders who promote innovative art and design within the community.

“I saw a lot of need within the immigration reform space in the United States, in particular towards misinformation and disinformation,” said Eduardo Badal, a Cohort 8 fellow with a major in graphic design. “One of my biggest reasons why I wanted to start was to fill that void with immigrants that are coming into this country.”
