Last week, Florida International University’s “Survivor” live event was hosted at the Success Center, , where they recreated a live finale similar to the one featured on the CBS show.
The energy was felt throughout the event. There were memorials from past and present seasons with interactive games and numerous Easter eggs for dedicated fans of the show.
It didn’t end there. They also added a red carpet where students could take photos as if they were at the Oscars. Contestants from season two shared their thoughts on the event.
Joaquin Gonzalez, an FIU student, showed strong interest in participating in the school’s third season if given the opportunity.
“I would love to be part of ‘Survivor’ season three,” Gonzalez said. “I think the competitive nature was really interesting and added to the theme.”
Andres Contreras, president of FIU Survivor and the planner of the entire event, shared his perspective on the event and his hopes for the future of FIU Survivor.
“I love the involvement and participation from people,” he said. “It was so nice and so heart-warming to see friends and family from contestants supporting them. There was a sense of community, and that’s what I want for FIU survivors.”
