When looking for a good place to grab a beer or some wings and nachos to hang out with your friends on game day, the typical thing to do is order in and hang out at a friend’s place with little to no fun. When you have a good group on game day, don’t settle. Why not try out a sports bar. In Miami, the sports environment is quite energetic, and there are some sports bars that you must give a try on those special days. Whether it’s the Heat or the Dolphins you’re watching, here are five spots you must try out with your pals on game day.
#5 – Bru’s Room Sports Grill

Right next to Tropical Park is this nice and roomy sports bar called Bru’s Room, owned by a former linebacker for the Dolphins named Bob Brudzinski. This place has a lot of space and plenty of things to chow down on while watching the game. Try. the waffle nachos at $15 or if you want something for yourself the Bob’s BBQ Burger is a great choice at $17. The environment is a little crowded but this location is new for the brand, there are six other locations that were opened before this one. If you want a good bite to eat and a nice environment, this is the place for you!
#4 – Sports Grill Bird Road

For FIU students, this location is right next door and a chill place to hang out in with booths all around. Miami sports teams surround the place, and yes, there are even arcade machines. The menu has a great variety with special grilled wings at $13 the fan-favorite. There is also the famous Philly sandwich at $16. This place has a decent amount of room and doesn’t get too packed on game days, but the environment is great.
#3 – Duffy’s Sports Grill

Right next to the Regal Kendall Village, this sports bar is a great place to hang out. It has a lot of TVs and space for your friends to watch the game and have a good time. In the mood for a burger? This place can’t stop getting orders for them, as the Sky Box double bacon cheeseburger at $17 and their Major League burger will take your taste buds for a run, all the way for a touchdown. Be careful, as this place does get filled up pretty quickly on game nights for the Heat and Dolphins, and even more during the playoffs, so if you want to hang out here, make sure to arrive early.
#2 – Hole in the Wall

This pub is a small but comfortable place to eat, with food that is to die for…not to mention their famous Taco Tuesdays where they sell their tacos for a dollar each. Yeah, you read that right. Hole in the Wall isn’t just famous for their tacos but their wings are also a must have, and a personal favorite is the BBQ Beef Brisket at $19, which is an incredible sandwich that is simple but a tomahawk slam dunk in your mouth. This place doesn’t get enough attention as it really is a nice location for you and your friends to hang out and watch the Heat/Marlins/Dolphons tear up their respective league on any given night.

If you ever need the perfect hang-out and great food with a fantastic environment, Flanigan’s is the place for you. With a general Irish theme, this place — and others in the chain — are filled with people every night. And no matter the occasion, the food is what draws you back. You can’t go to Flanigan’s without getting the Flanigan’s cup filled with your favorite soda, and the ever so delicious half rack of ribs at $15. Loaded Nachos for $12 are always the way to go to share with your friends and even some Joe’s Rockin Rib Rolls for $12 or award-winning chicken wings will help satisfy your hunger. You will want to visit Flanigan’s at least once, and you’ll never have to visit another place again.
