Panthers fans unite for Game One of the Stanley Cup watch party (includes video story)

Thousands of Florida Panthers fans came together at Amerant Bank Arena for a high-energy watch party to support the team in Game One of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers.

For many, it wasn’t just about the game, but about years of loyalty and the dream of winning another championship.

Chris Licht is one of the lifelong fans who have been through the ups and downs of the franchise.

I waited my whole life to win the first one, so it would be great to get a repeat,” said Licht.

Licht, like many others, made the trip from across South Florida just to be closer to the ice.

“I got to do what I can to get as close as I can to the action without buying that 2,500-mile plane ticket,” he stated.

The arena pulsed with energy as fans celebrated every goal and big play.

“Any time the Panthers are winning in playoff hockey, there’s just excitement in the building,” said fan Adam Scoggins.

Despite a dramatic defeat in overtime, 4-3, the belief among the crowd didn’t waver. Walter Morris, another longtime supporter, voiced confidence in the team’s chances.

“I have no doubt our team is just as strong as it was last year, or better,” Morris said. “Nobody cared about anything else but the sport. Let’s just appreciate each other and what we’re watching.”

With the Cats still in the fight for the Cup, fans remain loud, faithful, and ready for what comes next. Amerant Bank Arena will host another watch party for Game Two on Friday.
