With Florida’s October 5 voter registration deadline fast approaching, students at Florida International University are weighing how the upcoming elections will directly shape their futures.

These races carry major consequences. Winners will help dictate local policies, public funding and community laws that affect young adults every day.

The upcoming election features a crowded field of regional candidates, each offering a contrasting vision to the community.

For many FIU students, navigating the ballot for the first time means parsing these platforms to figure out which leaders align with their personal priorities and career goals.
