Weather October 2, 2026

Some drier conditions are forecast this weekend, but it isn’t expected to last.

On Friday and Saturday, expect scattered thunderstorms, with rain chances of 30 to 40% each day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s. Sunday will be the driest day throughout the next week as only isolated showers are expected with a rain chance of 20%. This is a result of strong winds coming from the east, pinning much of the thunderstorms along the west coast of Florida. These winds will also increase our rip current risk throughout the weekend.

To start the next work week, two cold fronts are expected to dip down towards Florida, but transition into a stationary front, keeping moisture parked over the state. Rain chances on Monday start at 50%, and rise as high as 70% on Wednesday and Thursday with numerous thunderstorms expected. Throughout the week, highs will be in the mid 80s, and lows could even reach the mid 70s.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Fay have a 10% chance of redevelopment just southeast of Bermuda, but will likely fizzle out by the next day or so.

No tropical systems pose a threat to Florida within the next 7 days.
