Former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at his Pennsylvania rally Saturday afternoon, sustaining an injury on the upper part of his right ear.
The former president was sheltered by the U.S. Secret Service, who eventually escorted him off the platform while he raised a fist upward and mouthed the word, “fight.”
The shooter responsible and one bystander were killed.
The Trump campaign released a statement saying, “President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act. He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility.”
The president is now focused on the Republican National Convention, which starts Monday.
