FPL prepares for possible November hurricane (includes video story)

FPL is preparing for the arrival of Nicole, a subtropical storm headed for South Florida that could become a rare November hurricane. Crews are out cutting tree limbs and checking wires to protect our communities.

Only a few months ago, Hurricane Ian killed scores of people, destroyed billions of dollars in property, and knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of people.

The preparation started early this time in an effort to prevent potential damage.

Now is the time to prepare if you have not already done so. Warnings and watches have been issued for much of the area, particularly Boca Raton and parts north. Rain from the storm could hit tonight.
