Full Room

Full Room is a short film about a college student named Audrey who is silently struggling with her mental health. Although her best friend, Melody, spends much of her time with Audrey, she never notices the steady decline in her friend’s well-being. While everyone else sees an ordinary day, Audrey is hiding behind a smile and barely holding herself together.

The film begins by showing what appears to be a normal day on campus during the first day of senior year. Audrey and Melody spend the day laughing, joking, and enjoying each other’s company. From the outside, they seem like two close friends making the most of their final year together.

However, appearances can be deceiving.

The day then repeats from Audrey’s perspective, revealing the emotional struggle hidden beneath her cheerful demeanor. The audience witnesses her anxiety, low self-esteem, and dissatisfaction with her body image while Melody remains unaware of the pain Audrey is concealing. Although Audrey is presented with an opportunity to seek help and find comfort, she chooses not to accept it.

The film ends with Audrey continuing to live with her anxiety while Melody remains unaware of her friend’s internal battle. Through Audrey’s experience, Full Room highlights how mental health struggles often go unnoticed and reminds viewers that those who appear happiest on the outside may be fighting silent battles within.
