Georgia’s Senate race between incumbent candidate Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) and Herschel Walker (R) was too close to call, with neither candidate able to secure more than 50% of the vote.
Most senate races have been called. However the results of Georgia’s runoff election may decide which party gains control of the Senate majority.
With more than 99% of the votes counted, Warnock was ahead of Walker by .9 percent. The high profile race is heading into a runoff election on Dec. 6 and early voting may begin as soon as Nov. 26.
“It’s really about getting all the parts lined up so we can get as many votes in so that voters can make their voice heard on that Dec. 6 runoff,” said Gabe Sterling, Georgia’s secretary of state.
