On Nov. 4, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference in FIU’s Graham Center to speak about Amendment 3’s impact on Floridians with the hope of swaying the minds of young voters.
The proposed Amendment 3 to the state constitution aims to legalize recreational marijuana for adults 21 years and older for possession, purchase and medicinal purposes. While the measure has garnered strong support both in Florida and across. the nation, some voters including the governor, say it would cause more harm than good for Floridians.
“I don’t think [voters] will think it’s appropriate to put into the Florida constitution,” he said.
