Headliner Market Group keeps the party going throughout pandemic (includes video story)

One of the industries most strongly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic is live entertainment. Although artists, performers and event-goers experienced a long pause during the lockdown, events are now starting back up again as restrictions continue to be lifted.

Headliner Market Group is among the companies putting on these COVID-friendly events — including open-air day parties and celebrity-hosted night parties almost every Saturday night at The Urban in Overtown. Some of the celebrities who have attended are Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Future, 2 Chainz and many more.

Mike Gardner, the CEO of Headliner Market Group, picked the venue because of its location and the fact that is open-air. He believes that although the pandemic has warranted changes to the way things are done, it has not had an effect on the way people have fun at the events.

“The only difference is the guidelines of wearing a mask. I don’t think it affects the way a person dances or the way a person orders a drink,” said Gardner. “Everyone is now conscious of the guidelines.”

Black-owned food trucks and vendors are set up throughout the venue and a bar is located in the middle. There is also bottle service.
