At FIU in D.C., the university celebrated the achievements of Biden administration appointees, many of whom were also former Panthers. Speakers included Mia Rodriguez, the campus’ governmental relations fellow, who credited the CHIPS and Science Act with enabling her internship, and William A. Ramos, a senior advisor at the Economic Development Administration, who highlighted the shcool’s work on sustainable construction materials.
“Through our Tech Hub, FIU is looking at different ways that we can do construction using products that are more resilient and don’t emit so many CO2’s into the air,” said Ramos.
With President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration approaching, the event marked the conclusion of Biden’s tenure and the start of a new chapter for both the United States and FIU in D.C.
