Immersive Van Gogh pop-up exhibit begins today (includes video story)

Starting April 15, residents will be able to visit the Ice Palace Studio at 1400 N. Miami Ave for the “Beyond Van Gogh” pop-up exhibit, brought to the city by the communications firm TARA Ink and created by artistic designer Mathieu St-Arnaud.

St-Arnaud worked with a team of approximately 15 people located throughout Canada and Miami to produce an immersive and novel way of experiencing the work of the famed Dutch post-impressionist painter.

“Van Gogh found beauty in everything that surrounded him,” St-Arnaud said. “I think that’s the most empowering feeling — and something I try to replicate throughout my life and my art.”

At the gallery, guests can tour a series of educational panels on the artist’s life and artistic process before walking through an array of dancing lights and paintings in motion.

The exhibit will continue through July 11 before it heads off to its next stops, which may include Austin, Detroit and Milwaukee. They even hope to bring the project to other countries around the world.
