Inter Miami recently released a drone video of the construction site for their new stadium, Miami Freedom Park. The park is a $1 billion project that will feature a retail district including restaurants, cutting-edge soccer arena, a city administration building and a community park.
The stadium has faced multiple setbacks and has generated significant buzz. However, concerns linger over the use of $20 million in taxpayer money for park development outside of the stadium funding.
“Just because we’re getting a new park at the soccer stadium isn’t enough because we’re losing a lot of green space,” said former Commissioner Ken Russell.
Meanwhile, the future of Miami’s soccer superstar Lionel Messi is still unclear since his agreement ends before the stadium’s completion in 2026. When he signed, though, he was he was given an option to biuy into the team’s ownership.
