International Smoke opens new location

Bestselling cookbook author Ayesha Curry and renowned Chef Michael Mina have joined forces once again, opening a third International Smoke location on Feb. 27 at Aventura Mall.

The restaurant’s locations in San Francisco and Houston has received guests such as President Barack Obama and rapper Drake.

According to a press release about the opening, International Smoke has fused techniques, flavors and ingredients from Japanese, Jamaican and Korean cuisines to create a unique menu.

“We’re so excited to be a part of the mall at a time where several notable upgrades are being made,” said spokeswoman Delfina Guemes. “Exciting new shops and brands are joining us to make Aventura a one-of-a-kind destination.”

Curry expressed her excitement on her Instagram account.

“Tonight was one for the books!” she said. “Come all, come all we’re at the best mall.”

According to the release, the restaurant pays homage to Miami’s vibrant art and multicultural scene by offering signature dishes such as the Garlic Cuban Porchetta and Grilled Moroccan Harissa Lamb Chops as well as showcasing graffiti murals by renowned graffiti artist Edward Granger throughout the restaurant.

“Miami’s diversity, adrenalin charged culture and love for worldly cuisine made it the natural next step for our expansion plans,” said Mina in the release.

Outside the restaurant Friday, mall patrons stopped and took selfies of the façade.

The happy hour specials are Mondays through Fridays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The restaurant operates on Sundays to Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays to Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
