High school teacher is given tickets for Final Four basketball tournament (includes video story)

Jeff Cooper, a journalism teacher at Olathe Northwest High School, missed an opportunity to attend the elite 8 of the women’s NCAA basketball tournament last week.

He stayed home to help his students during their time of need.

In a show of gratitude, the students came together to give him and his daughter a surprise trip to the Final Four on Friday.

This trip, worth thousands of dollars, was a token of their gratitude. Their only request was pictures of their teacher’s experience.

“For me it was like a dream come true,” Cooper said. “That was a really, really special moment!”
