Jewish students at FIU commemorate the anniversary of Oct. 7 (includes video story)

Yesterday, Jewish students at Florida International University attended a flag placement ceremony and memorial vigil service hosted by Hillel at FIU to honor the lives lost during the Oct. 7 attacks.

Students gathered at the Graham Center lawns at 10 a.m. and planted one small Israeli flag for each victim. Nearly five hours later at the vigil, officials from Hillel at FIU and guest speakers highlighted the importance of fighting antisemitism.

“I feel like all the Jewish people are connected to each other,” said Travis Lehman, a member of the organization. “This is a way we can take a moment and remember all the lives that were lost on October 7.”
