Kishon Frett makes his mark in FIU baseball (includes video story)

Redshirt senior Kishon Frett is making his mark on FIU baseball with a standout season that could lead to a future at the next level.

Through the first four weeks of the season, Frett has already racked up six home runs and 15 RBIs, making him one of the most productive hitters in Conference USA.

“Everything I do here is for the next level,” said Frett. “It’s always been something in my heart and in my family’s heart.”

FIU hitting coach Brian Jeroloman was impressed by Frett’s size, strength, and natural ability from the start.

“The body stands out,” said Jeroloman. “It’s a man playing against boys. He checks every box.”

But for Frett, success isn’t just about the game, it’s about making his family proud. His mother, Darlene Frett, has been his biggest supporter.

“It has been a pure joy and a blessing to watch him grow,” said Darlene Frett. “I’m very proud of him.”

As the season progresses, Frett’s leadership and consistent performance will be key in helping FIU maintain its strong start. His drive and talent suggest that this season may only be the beginning of a promising baseball career.
