Luminous Global held its fourth annual “Light Up the Night” gala this past Friday at the Mayfair House Hotel & Garden in Coconut Grove. The event, themed “the enchanted garden,” brought together survivors, advocates and supporters to raise awareness about breast health and the importance of early detection.

The gala honored survivors and changemakers, recognizing those who have gone from receiving support from the foundation to actively helping others. Attendees enjoyed a formal dinner, live music and tributes highlighting the foundation’s ongoing work in early detection and breast health advocacy.

Founder of Luminous Global, Marilyn Dans, shared the personal experience that inspired the organization.

“I’ve dedicated my life to early detection and doing medical missions in third-world countries all over the world, making sure that technology is a great equalizer and health equity,” Dans said.

The organization has developed a handheld device and companion app that allow women to monitor their breast health at home, helping them identify potential concerns early and seek care when needed.

Funds raised at the gala will support the Luminous Advocacy Project’s outreach, education and health equity initiatives, particularly in underserved communities.
