The Luminosa Festival of Lights returns to South Florida (includes video story)

The Luminosa Festival of Lights returns to South Florida for a third time to bring fan-favorite fairytales to life.

Organized by Jungle Island & Lektrik Art, the festival includes over a hundred stunning light sculptures crafted by 150 different artists. Luminosa creates an interactive experience for visitors of all ages, accompanied by live performances and music.

“It’s almost a year-long process. It takes seven months of preparation just to do what we do,” said Lektrik Art CEO Justin Corsa. “And the reason why it takes so long is because every single year, it’s a brand-new theme, brand new design. And we bring these new designs to give people a brand new experience every single year.”

But Luminosa wasn’t easy to get going.

”The biggest challenge is putting together these monumental displays,” said tour guide Sandra Villaman. “As you can see, they are very large in size. We have, for example, a rising phoenix. It’s one of our hidden gems here.”

The exhibit blends cultural heritage with modern artistic innovation. Visitors can wander through themed light exhibits featuring mythical creatures, nature-inspired scenes and dazzling architectural designs.

”We will see their eyes light up and get excited about the animals, get excited about the colors, the lights, the pages moving, the wings flipping and it’ll be awesome,” said tourist Suraj Raheja.

The Luminosa Festival will be open until March 8 on Jungle Island, 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail.
