Man accused of stealing a knife, then stabbing someone at a gas station (includes video story)

On Tuesday morning, a man allegedly broke into a Pembroke Pines restaurant and only stole one item.

Police said that 26-year-old Alex Feldbauer was caught by surveillance footage of Sergio’s Cuban Kitchen and Bar around 2:30 a.m attempting to gain access to the premises – with an unknown motive.

The man allegedly attempted to enter in several ways before breaking a window with a rock.

After successfully gaining access, security camera footage shows that he didn’t attempt to reach the register – instead, he was seen reaching for a chef’s knife on the counter, then fleeing the scene with it.

Police said the suspect was eventually caught in a nearby neighborhood.

Around 2:45 a.m., a 9-1-1 call came in about a stabbing victim at a Shell gas station at 142nd street and Pines Boulevard, The victim told the dispatcher that he had been randomly attacked as he pumped gas. A pool of blood was still visible on the scene this morning. The suspect fled and was eventually caught in a near neighborhood.

Although the motive is unclear, police are investigating.
