Authors, filmmakers, poets, and journalists will gather at the Mango Writers Conference

This Saturday, Feb. 22, the South Florida Writers Association (SFWA) will host the 2025 Mango Writers Conference. The event, at the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant near the Miami International Airport, will feature panelists from across South Florida.

Reflecting the diverse SFWA, presenters will cover many topics. Among those who will present. Anita Mitchell, a former journalist with WSVN 7, will discuss her recent non-fiction book. “This Gift,” which features a paraplegic athlete turned Paralympian swimmer. Holly Iglesias, a writing teacher at the University of Miami, will discuss poetry and creativity. Damodar Airan, an attorney and former profession engineer, will teach how to negotiate publishing contracts.

Breakfast and lunch are included with admission, which ranges from $50 for students to $65 for everyone else. There will also be a raffle and book sales.
