Florida International University hosted veteran journalist Martin Baron at the Mary Ann Wolfe Theater on Friday to present him with the second-ever College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts medallion.
The event allowed students to gain insight from the former editor of the Miami Herald, Boston Globe and Washington Post.
Baron advised Panthers that rising journalists should be more transparent about how news is reported. He also discussed his concerns with the current media landscape.
“Journalism has more. talking and less listening when it should be less talking and more listening,” said Baron.
