Meggan Morency Wild West Night honors the life of a 17-year old horse rider (includes video story)

This past weekend, more than 1,000 people gathered at the Green Glades Ranch in Weston for the 15th annual Meggan Morency Wild West Night.

The annual fundraising event honored Meggan Morency’s legacy, a 17-year old Parkland girl who died of a horse riding accident in 2003.

Her family created the event. All proceeds go directly toward funding equine therapy services to South Florida families at no cost.

As the night continued, guests bid on gifts from the public including jewelry, signed items from celebrities, and special artwork donated by artist George Rodez, with proceeds helping support the organization’s mission as his way to give back.

“Events like this bring people together.,” said Denise Panariello, president of Bit by Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, the beneficiary of the event. “They bring awareness.”
